Well being Canadian I don’t have memorial day, we have remembrance day (apart from Newfoundland and Labrador). I don’t sport a cap and never have but have been to every remembrance day ceremony since childhood inclusive of a few Europe. I do however appreciate your Ad hominem attack. My rebuttal: the one complaining on youtube about sporting a sponsored hat on a podium should probably get a life.
Shame Ryder just dropped out of the tour de france yesterday so no podiums.
You must be the guy who keeps your hat on during Memorial Day services. Doffing your cap is a sign of respect during any countries anthem, and I am sure that the sponsors agree with that thought. Irrespective of that, I made my comment lightheartedly and DID mention how proud we are of him and wished him luck in Paris, thus I did TRY successfully to look at the positive. Don’t be the goof running around YouTube blasting folks comments because you don’t have life.
Hats tend to be warn in modern sports for reasons of sponsorship. This isn’t the Olympics and these men could not care less what you think of what they do when they win such events. Maybe try looking at the many positives of this great achievement rather than searching out for any tiny insignificant negatives.
Ryder, please PLEASE remember next time to remove your cap when they play our anthem (in Paris), and make sure Cadel or whoever else is on the podium with you does so as well! You made us proud young man (except for the cap thingie)- keep it up!
