Errr, I don’t think so. I think you’re getting confused with a different Millar!

Millar was my 1st sports hero back when I was 13. I had a Peugeot bike & team Peugeot jersey that I wore on every ride! Read ‘In Search of Robert Millar’ good book. Wiggins has surpassed all in his achievements, but Millar is still up there for me…

Millar was 1st over the 4 climbs that day, it was a monster stage, & he deserved to win it! It was such a tragedy he never won the Vuelta in 85, he should of been Britian”s 1st grand tour winner, but was “jobbed” by the Spanish teams.

Robert Millar – The Flying Scotsman, never forgotten back in Scotland. Hope he’s doing well and is in a good place mentally.

Robert has given a lot to cycling and how many Scots came closer to great rewards, in the past very few and less now. His spirit as a grand tour rider is an example to follow.
Roberto ha dato molto al ciclismo e quante scozzese arrivò più vicino a grandi premi, pochi in passato e ora di meno. Il suo spirito come un corridore nei grandi giri a tappa è un esempio da seguire.

Great footage of some classic riders. It reminds me of my own cycling days. Used to regularly tape every tour, unfortunately didnt keep the tapes. Thanks for the footage.

There’s obviously a sizeable majority that can’t see past Celtic and Rangers, but sweeping generalisations and blanket statements like yours don’t reflect the truth of the admiration and even love that many Scots hold for all different kinds of Scots athletes.

Drew, try and find one person in the professional cycling world who has proof or reason to believe Lemond took anything during his career and then we can move on to asking Greg to then prove himself. You may find yourself searching in vain for a very long time, unlike another certain American Tour winner who famously doesn’t get along with Lemond,.

Greg LeMond’s average speed in the time trial, 54.545 km/h, was the fastest in Tour de France stage history; since then, only the 1994 prologue has been faster.[1
On a boat anchor with aero bars? What proof does he have that he was clean? Many others were doping at this time. Testing was very easy to beat back then.
Clearly he could have been using performance enhancing substances. Greg should be asked to prove that he did not dope during his three tours.
