I got hit by a car two weeks ago. I did a tuck and roll. It helped but I was lucky that someone put fown some concrete to help stop my fall. I only reveived broken bones and cuts to my arm, hands, legs and face. I would like to thank the purple Hyundai for ending my cycling career early on so I didn’t get my hopes up. I was only shooting for my first win in 2013. No big deal.

on the going over the handlebar example I’m not being funny or anything but I would never tuck and roll. Because swear you can damage your neck if you do it wrong, and most times your not gonna roll like that just fall on your back with your bike on top of you.
And i would rather have a broken arm/ wrist, compared with a broken back /neck!

I asked the douches at my LBS and they just smiled.

At-least someone cares about riders safety during a crash.

    Thank you cycling secrets!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but according to the venerable Sheldon and Brandt, the lower pressure in the wheels adds a negligible amount of traction at the expense of absorbed energy from your pedal stroke. Do the pro’s really take this advice? I doubt it, but I might be totally wrong, too.

i prefer a 75/25 split on my breaks, even down tuned rear brakes for comfort.
