Well Cav has already got all those victories under his belt. The future? Seen lots of guys who promised much but couldn’t deliver due to injury/bad luck/ missed opportunity/ being found wanting when things got tough.

Cavendish gets a lead-out train from Team Sky because he can win sprints, not the other way around; looking at the 1012 Tour de France, most of his wins were the result of finding the right wheel, and making a well timed move. More power to him!

if Cavendish has no team support he is nobody..Look at Sagan what he has done without any support from the team..Be realistic..But its probably hard for you coz i guess you are British 😉

any one that thinks ferrari is blameless must be a bit of a div, yeah ok riding a bike this fast isnt without its risks but that is why the rules say you have to hold your line like in F1 and lots of other racing it the minimisation of the risk so we go home smiling not grimacing. on the manning up front danny way 360 aired the great wall of china with a shat on ankle now that is gnar to the core…..oh and any one that rides the i.o.m. tt thats instant death no road rash when it goes wrong .

A simple mistake????! Any amateur knows not to come off your line like that! And in a sprint finish to boot! Ferrari should have been disqualified from the tour. They should have made an example out of him.

If your in a sprint finish and Cav has not passed you. You must hold your line because you know he is coming. It’s inevitable.

I think he did ‘man the fuck up’. By riding on without complaint of his injuries and then winning the 5th stage.

You got a thumbs up from me for this comment though! There would have been worse consequences for Mark if he had caused this!

I present you with this question though. Most definitely Mark would have been slaughtered for making a mistake like this BUT! how much of that is down to his history?

Yer Cav is a hard man and I am a fan of Cav no question! You can’t be saying all this about “not safe” Sprints aren’t safe! Neither are descents, people fall off! Get over it! The guy thought he had a gap and you can’t be playing around if you have only 100-150 yards left! We don’t need cycling being turned into a bunch of health and safety crap!

You can’t carry that amount of passengers on a bike.
